Hi! I'm Barbara, aka Lamia,
dancer and teacher, passionate researcher in the field of dance, yoga e del benessere femminile, con alle spalle più di 15 anni di insegnamento in tutto il mondo.
Welcome to this space dedicated to
the awakening of harmony and inner strength!
In this page of the site I would like to share a bit of my story with you, because you might recognize yourself in this story: it is a story of transformation, rediscovery and evolution that has led me to know more and more about myself.
Since I was little I have always been a very introverted child, a great devourer of books and insecure in my relationship with my body and with others. As a teenager I finally decided to enroll in an Oriental dance class because I felt something was missing in my life, I wanted to find a connection with that part of me that I had buried due to insecurity and fear.
It was a magical meeting, which changed my life forever! The sinuous and natural body movements of Oriental dances awakened in me an inner world that I didn't know I had, a great strength that manifested itself through elegance and softness: they gave me a new sense of femininity that I had never known before but of which I somehow felt the deep call.
It was like falling in love, and since then dance has become a companion of a thousand adventures for me.
I felt that the practice of this art benefited my entire being, both from a physical, emotional and mental point of view, giving me a new perception of my body and of my relationship with others.
After a few years I felt I had to dig even deeper and integrate new perspectives, looking for a practice that could give me back that deep connection that I felt between gesture and poetry, between body and mind, between movement and interiority: thus began my journey into yoga and in Indian classical dance, disciplines which have become for me the compass of my research and which illuminate and inspire my steps.
So I decided to totally dedicate my time and energy to the study and transmission of these art forms: I had the great honor of being invited to over 20 countries around the world to teach and dance on many international stages, and this was a precious enrichment for my training as a teacher and as a dancer (read here my full Bio).
Thanks to the arts of dance and yoga my life has transformed both inside and out, giving me balance and inner strength and allowing me to flourish in my creativity, so as to be able to accompany hundreds of students towards the rediscovery of these innate qualities through body practices, mindfulness exercises and a natural lifestyle that puts them in contact with their own deep harmony.
If you also wish to reconnect with this source of inner energy, listen to yourself deeply and take the first step towards yourself.
We live in an increasingly hectic world and I know how difficult it is to carve out spaces for your well-being and to recharge!
But the truth is that without our moments of recharge and without energy we become insecure and disconnected from our bodies and our deepest needs.
Deciding to take the first step towards yourself is the beginning of a wonderful journey that can transform and improve our lives.
